Can we beat our 224 Valkyrie results? Honestly…a monkey with a stick could beat our 224 Valkyrie results…they were dismal.

The load development in this video are for DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY. Always follow manufacturer published load data.

In this video, Joe discovers why the Hornady Match shot terrible out of his 6mm ARC Shaw barrel and shot great in Shawn’s Ballistic Advantage 6mm ARC barrel. They then use the information they obtained to develop the best load for their respective rifles. Joe is running a 22 inch Shaw Barrel and Shawn has a 20 inch Ballistic Advantage barrel.

Joe also goes over the tools they used to measure proper Ogive to ensure a great shooting round. They also reference the tool to measure shoulder bump which will help him extend the life of his brass…all Hornady tools.

One of the key tools for load development is a good chronograph…and we got one of the best. The Magnetospeed v3 is a great addition to the toolbox and is a MUST for load development. It let’s you get into the weeds of load development and really narrows down the sweet spot that your rifle will love.

We experienced zero malfunctions during our load development (phew) and Shawn and Joe were able to show their flat spots or “speed nodes.” and will be developing a more precise load for each of their guns…once they can find powder for their loads (looking at you Brownells…*cough CFE223 cough).

So what’s next? Fine tuning the load and trying to get out to 1000 yards. It’ll happen sooner rather than later. We have 6 folks in 3 states scouring local stores and online for powder and ammo.
