For our Zero to Youtube Hero series, we attempted to see if you can learn basic pistol skills and training and have them translate to the flat range. Today we finally find out if those pistol dry fire skills translate into actual shooting skill.
In this final test we use some snap caps to overcome shot anticipation then we go into the shooting tests.
We setup all of the tests (besides the 25 yard accuracy test) at 10 yards. We then did the following firearms tests:
- basic pistol accuracy
- rapid fire
- Firing with speed from a holster
- Rapid fire with reload
- Rapid fire multi target reload
- 25 yard accuracy test
After all of this training I feel you can absolutely learn to shoot a pistol simply by watching and learning from Youtube videos. You don’t need fancy trainers or crazy facilities. The only thing you need is the dedication to commit to the training and the practice.
