In this video give you the Ryker Grip review. For full disclosure the Ryker Grip and Ryker Sling were given to us for review.
We get the Ryker grip out the packaging and even when it’s setup for the wrong hand, the military grade polymer Ryker grip just feels great in the hand. The Ryker Grip comes setup with the picatinny mount but you can easily swap it over to a mlok attachment.
By removing the center screw and washer, you can flip the Ryker grip from right hand or left hand orientation along with changing it from Mlok or picatinny attachment methods. I do wish this had some sort of quick disconnect. The idea of just swapping it between rifles is awesome.
As I set the Ryker Grip up on my rifle I ran into some issues where the grip ran into my light. I ended up having to redesign the entire setup but it turned out to be absolutely awesome. I could use the Ryker grip but also use a c-clamp grip to reach the flashlight touchpad and I could also reach the touchpad with my opposite hand if I swapped shoulders.
Next we did a series of tests and the first was the fatigue test. I was able to hold the rifle upright with the Ryker grip for almost 30% long, or a full minute! I think there is definitely some validity to their claim that the Ryker grip causes less fatigue.
The Ryker grip would be amazing for anyone who has a shoulder injury. If you were ever taken out of shooting sports due to strength or shoulder pain, the Ryker grip can get you back out to the range.
I also found the up-down drills to be more consistent and comfortable. From my archery days I know that consistency equals accuracy and I know I could train into this very quickly.
I then did a series of multi-target drills. Now, full disclosure, I’m horrible at multi-target drills because I don’t train enough. And I don’t train enough because I can’t get the form right. The Ryker Grip doesn’t make me the fastest shooter ever but I’m definitely more accurate at speed and it makes me much more confident in my movements.
Even when we moved on to the recoil tests, I found myself to be the same speed, but a lot more accurate. This tells me that the form difference is helping to mitigate recoil more than a standard foregrip.
Overall I was surprised how much I liked this product. I REALLY liked my previous setup and it didn’t want to take it all apart because I figured I’d just have to put it all back on later. But I’ll be keeping the Ryker grip attached to my rifle. I am pleasantly impressed.
Stay tuned for the sling review! It makes an absolutely insane combination with the Ryker grip that just isn’t possible with a standard foregrip.
