We open up the Propper Series 100 boots and take a look at what all come with the boots. The boots come with two additional insoles that can be added to the boots.
The boots are marked as waterproof and we spent the extra time to make sure to test this feature. The Series 100 coyote brown boots withstood the test of snow and water and I never felt my socks get wet at all. I was really impressed by this.
The bottom of the sole on the Propper Series 100’s says it oil and slip resistant. I wish they made the bottom of the boot more aggressive because then I could say without a doubt that this is my favorite boot of all time.
In order to install the included insoles on our Propper boots, you have to remove the insole that comes with the boot. The included insole is perfectly sufficient in its own right and is made of a high quality memory foam material. The added insole then is placed in the boot and the original insole installed back on top.
Next we moved on to the ruck portion where we took the boots out for a nice fast hike with 40lbs in our Mystery Ranch popup 28. As a warning, these boots come out of the box extremely stiff. Make sure you take the time to break them in. I made sure to wear them out and about and in the house for about 8 hours before I attempted to any activity in the boots.
The ruck ended up being a little over 5k and we went about 3.5 miles. My feet stayed happy and pain free the entire time. Make sure you tie up your boots properly though! I had to make a small pit stop to get them situated correctly.
If you’re looking for a good tactical or duty boot, this is a fantastic all weather option with a price that won’t break the bank.
