We start out by unboxing and seeing all of the contents that come with the Primary arms 6-30 APOLLO. Included is a 2032 battery, tool for adjusting the turret caps and zero stop, a sun shade, instructions, and the scope itself.
The windage and elevation have a nice positive tactile engagement. They are not locking turrets but the the optic is equipped with a zero stop system and removes the need for locking caps.
I found the magnification dial to give just the perfect amount of resistance. You can easily throw it from 6 to 30 magnification but you also don’t have to worry about it being bumped and moving position.
The parallax has a wide range of adjustment and goes from 35 yards out to infinity. I was very impressed with the low parallax on an optic with such a high magnification.
On the illumination dial, there are 11 different brightness settings with an off position between each level. This makes it easy to leave the optic placed at a setting you prefer.
We then took a look at the reticle and how the Primary Arms ACSS-APOLLO absolutely transforms the shooter. The reticle has so many features built in. The more you understand how to use it correctly, the more crazy things you can do.
From the inside to the outside of the reticle, every part was well thought out and purpose built. I found the reticle to be as much a weapon system as the rifle itself.
Next, we do a series of tests to look at turret adjustment, magnification, illumination levels, and glass clarity. You’re going to want to see the glass clarity…it’s nuts!
Overall, I believe the Primary Arms 6-30 ACSS-APOLLO 65cr/.224v is one of, if not, the best optics you could ever put on your 6.5 Creedmoor.
