Let’s take a look at the Top 3 plate carrier front placards on the market right now!

So what is a front plate placard? Well this is bit of kit that connects to your front plate via swift clips and then secures down via hook and loop.

Each placard uses some sort of large front pocket that uses different types of inserts. They all have different colors and customization options that can vary wildly.

We begin with the HRT maximus. This carrier has a large pocket and also comes with an included insert. This is a big bonus as this is the only placard that comes fully setup from the get-go. The side pouches use kydex retention tabs to hold whatever you may want to place inside. This increases their usability significantly as they fit multiple objects and don’t have any straps or fabric in the way.

The front pouches offer two different places to place gear and equipment and offer some straps to keep it all organized in place.

I found this to be a fantastic option that does almost everything well. It’s available and it has all the included gear you need.

Moving on, we took a look at the Spiritus Systems MK4. This also uses the same style as the HRT maximus with a large pouch and multiple different inserts. The spiritus mk4’s claim to fame is it’s customization and you really have a ton of different options here…in theory. You can run two full rows in front and back or you could run a half flap and a set of small pouches. The sky is really the limit….but not really. All of this stuff is incredibly difficult to find.
So while it it has some options that are really cool…good luck finding them. The entire customer experience is abysmal. If you can get it all though it’s a great little front placard! …I still can’t find expander wings after 6 months.

We then took a look at the Haley Strategic DC3RM micro. This placard functions much like the others with the large main pocket but this one uses kydex style retention tabs. I like this because it works perfectly with the esstac style retainers and makes for a fantastic combination. The side of the pouch has two pouches and it also includes a large main pouch that has areas to organize your gear, similar to the HRT maximus.
The Haley strategic also includes a harness so you can run it stand alone….even if this is a questionably weird setup.

Hopefully this helps you determine which front plate placard is best for you!
