Grey Ghost Gear Minimalist Plate Carrier - The Expandability Carrier

The Grey Ghost Gear Minimalist plate carrier is a great plate carrier for those who value expandability but want it in a small package. The minimalist plate carrier focuses on the idea of allowing the warfighter to operate with everything they need and nothing they don’t.

The front and the back of this plate carrier are basically the same. They have full MOLLE sections with a combo Velcro/MOLLE section at the top. There are very easy adjustments via the shoulder straps and the cummerbund. The shoulder straps allow the user to easily take the carrier off in an emergency scenario. No shoulder pads that you would need to overcome.

The carrier gives the ability to just direct attach mag pouches or admin pouches as needed, but the addition of the AXL Placard adapter allows the user to really take this carrier to the next level. Being able to use placards helps with pre-planning placards for various missions.

Flipping either the front or back over, you see a nice area of mesh which helps wick moisture away and provides another level of comfort for the user. Both plate bags can accommodate a wide size range of plate, but I would highly suggest thicker plates vs the thinner steel plates. The steel just flops around and make mounting MOLLE seem more of a chore and less stable.

All in all, I’m very happy with my purchase and the AXL placard adapter has made this carrier even better.
