In this video give you the Ryker Grip review. For full disclosure the Ryker Grip and Ryker Sling were given to us for review.
We review the Holosun 503g ACSS and Holosun HM3X magnifier and show you why this is one of the best possible combinations of optics when you’re operating inside 200 yards and still want to reach out to deliver some long range metal affection.
We first take a look at the reticle, which is the ACSS reticle sold exclusively by Primary arms. This reticle includes a horseshoe pattern but it can also be swapped to long range mode so that the horseshoe is no longer shown.
The red dot is a fully aluminum unit that uses a 2032 battery with approximately 10,000 hours of battery life. The red dot includes a low mount and a 1/3 co-witness mount along with a torx wrench and installation tool. It should be noted, there is no included absolute co-witness mount.
In the close quarters setting or CQB, the reticle is extremely fast at target acquisition at close range. The issues come up when you want to try to use the ACSS marking for the long distance shots. The markings are just too small and hard to read to be able to use on the optic by itself.
So then, by adding the HM3X the reticle is much easier to read and target acquisition and ranging becomes much easier. This optic combo dominates the close range mission set as the CQB reticle allows for the user to quickly engage close range targets. The magic happens then when the HM3X is engaged so the reticle can now engage or identify targets at distance easily.
I have had this setup on my rifle for over a year and I can’t say how much I really enjoy this setup for its versatility and absolute ease of use. If you want to just run an optic, you can just remove the HM3X magnifier due to its well designed quick release. I just toss the magnifier in a cargo pocket and then I can quickly reinstall with a single hand if the need arises for a long shot.
The optic also rotates out at 90 degrees, unlike similar optics. This prevents the optic from falling in front of the non-dominant eye and making your brain go crazy.
