We take out our Tikka T3x Tac A1 and look at some of the best ways to zero your rifle and what gives the best groups.

We wanted to compare the difference between shooting off a bipod, a bag, and a tripod.

Each session was shot using two groups of five The bipod is an Atlas B10 V8 with Hawk hill custom feet The bag is a random bag I carry my gear in The tripod is a large tripod from precision rifle solutions using an M-lok SLIM QRP.

After two rounds we had the following results

  • Bipod – 1.06 MOA average
  • Bag – 1.01 MOA average
  • Tripod – 1.45 MOA average

The tripod shifted a lot and was hard to keep from moving around underneath me. Next time I’ll have to try the bipod using the SSP-1 head from precision rifle solutions.

We then did a final round with the bipod and bag Final Round Bipod – 1.07 MOA Bag – 1.67 MOA (owch!) The averages for the day ended up being as follows:

  • Bipod – 1.065
  • Bag – 1.34
  • Tripod – 1.45

Accuracy average for the day 1.22 MOA
