Taking a look at the GBRS group’s second best sling we see a minimalistic sling done extremely well.

The buttstock end of the sling gives you a ton of adjustment and uses a simple plastic buckle to keep weight down. I recommend you mark the end of the buckle as the GBRS group does not mark or indicate that the sling strap should be doubled over to prevent your rifle from falling on the ground.

Moving down the sling we see a larger padded area that is about 2 inches wide by about 14 inches long-ish. The pad works extremely well to add both comfort and rigidity to the entire sling system. I love how the pad keeps the entire sling in place when I’m making length adjustments.

Beyond the pad is a metal loop that connects into the adjustable fore-end of the sling. Here there is another plastic buckle that can be used to adjust the length of the sling. Giving you a simple and easy way to tighten or loosen the sling based on what you need.

At the carbine end, we again see the same as the buttstock end with the unmarked plastic buckle. I highly recommend marking the buckle so you remind yourself to properly secure the straps when the sling is adjusted.

Overall, I found the second best sling to do everything it does extremely well while also not trying to a bunch of extra nonsense.

If you’re looking for a no-nonsense sling that just works, the GBRS group second best sling is a fantastic option.
