Opening up the box I was instantly a bit surprised by the actual case the light comes in. The whole thing is small and fairly compact. I like how it gives me nice place to put my Baton 3 at night or during the day when out in the field.

The charging case itself holds a charge that will recharge the Olight Baton 3 3.7 times also. That gives you a ton of use time if you’re in an emergency and sustainable power may be questionable.

LEDs on the case also show you both the power level of the Olight Baton 3 and the status of the charging case itself. Making it quick and easy to determine if you need to stop and top off for some juice.

For the Baton 3 light modes, if you click the button one time, the light just turns off and on like normal. While the light is on, you can hold down the button on the Baton 3 to change from low, medium, and high power settings.

There are a few other cool features hidden also though. If you instead hold down the button when then light is off. It goes into what Olight calls moon mode. Here you have a 0.5 lumen light that can last 33 days. And with the charge case that recharges 3.7 times, you suddenly have a light that can last you 122 days!

I found Olight Baton 3’s moon mode to be extremely beneficial when out in the woods. It’s just enough light to see while also keeping your position discrete if you need to be discrete.

Alternatively, you can click the Baton 3 button two times to enter turbo mode. Here the light goes up to 1200 lumens and it gives a serious punch in a small EDC light.

Finally, you can click the button 3 times to do a strobe effect. This ads some bonus points for the Baton 3 to be used as a defensive light when needed.

Overall I think this is a very capable little EDC light and I’ll be using it as my EDC light for the next month and report back!
