Starting with a closer look at the Ronin Pistol pouches, we see the pouches use tegris material on the front and back of the pouch. This is nice to see as it’s the same strong and lightweight material we all liked on the Axl Eclipse belt.

The Pistol pouch also uses a unique elastic band to get a good bite on the magazine. And the elastic also allows you to easily insert different size magazines. I found it easily fit multiple size magazines from real steel to airsoft mags.

Looking at the top of the pouch, we see an elastic retention strap designed to keep the mags secured. The elastic bands are stout and seem very strong but the fabric tab at the top of the strap is quite concerning. The tab itself is a very thin bit of fabric that has no reinforcement or protection. This is the biggest weak spot of this pistol pouch so far.

On the rear of the pouch is a sew-in tab to connect into a battle belt or any other molle connections. The tab is a nice feature as you don’t need to purchase any additional connectors to make it work.

Taking the pistol pouch out for testing, we found the pouch sits extremely tall. The height of the pouch directly impedes the ability to cleanly and consistently remove the magazine. Comparing the pouch to esstac or Tyr, those mags performed far more consistently during reloads.

Looking at the Ronin Padded inner belt liner, we see a high-quality inner belt that is designed to be used with the Ronin Senshi if you wanted to throw it over a jacket or use it without an inner belt. The inside of the padded belt is a tad squishy to give some comfort to the entire system. The surface of the pad is tacky and you can see it would grab onto your clothes and hold the belt in position.

The entire inner side of the padded belt is sewn in hook backing that connects into a Ronin Senshi or any other belt that uses hook on the inside to attach to an inner belt.

We found the Ronin padded inner belt to work excellently with the Axl Eclipse as the Eclipse doesn’t work the best without an inner belt. The Ronin Senshi on the other hand is so rigid and stable that the inner belt is more a comfort piece than a necessity.
