We review the McLean DRS Sling and take a look at why you need one. I’ll be bold enough to say that this the really the ONLY sling you’ll ever need.
First, if you don’t have a sling, you need a sling. At some point you will need to carry your weapon and this inexpensive option makes you far more suited as a hunter, warfighter, or killer of robot dinosaurs.
Generally you have two choices of slings, single and two point slings. The single point sling is great in that it lets you move around, change shoulders, reload easily, and make pistol transitions. But it has a fatal flaw, if you drop the weapon for any reason, it’s going straight between your legs and ringing your bell every time.
The two point sling on the other hand, solves the issues with the weapon ringing the gong but it makes new problems. Now you can’t change shoulders anymore and reloading gets you all bound up. The McLean DRS solves this problem by allowing you to quickly swap between a single point sling or a two point sling easily and quickly. The DRS can also be cinched tight to the body for walking around, climbing ladders, or performing first aid.
Then the sling latch can be slid forward to be released in a two point sling configuration OR the latch can be slid backwards towards the user to immediately deploy the weapon into a single point sling operation. This gives you a versatility not seen in any other slings.
No longer are you stuck choosing between single point or two point or when to swim in and out of your sling. With the Mclean DRS sling, you have both worlds all in one.
I also put on all of my first line (ronin senshi belt) and my second line (esstac Daeodon) to show the Mclean sling doesn’t interfere with any of the gear. The sling makes the whole setup work better by working together with your gear instead of against it.
We also changed out the front plate placard for a popular Haley D3CRM micro placard and a ferro mini dangler. Changing the placard had no impact on the system working extremely well together. If you have any comments or questions please add them below.
